According to the working principle, the power ratings of the generators can be examined as follows:
1- Standby (Instant) Operation (ESP)
2- Prime (Continuous) Operation (PRP)
3- Continuous (Center Type) Operation (COP)
Emergency Standby Power (ESP)-Limited Time Running (LTP) This operating type is defined as instantaneous operating type and is the maximum power that the generator set can provide in case of short-term interruptions in the mains energy (1-2 hours). It can be used between 200-500 hours per year. This figure varies according to the engine manufacturers.
Prime Power (PRP) It is the power specified by the engine manufacturers for 24/24 hours in the long-term interruptions of the mains energy, and under variable load, the loss caused by the thermal laws of the ESP load and calculated in this way, but which we can take as 10% power loss in each engine and generator set, is the same. It is the power used for the generator set and it can be used under variable loads of 50% to 100% (average 70%) of the generator power.
Continuous Power (COP) Continuous, plant type or island type operation; It is the type of operation in which the prime operating power is reduced by 10% more than the prime operating power (PRP) due to the engine power decrease due to thermal losses. In this working type, unlike PRP, the product is not suitable for overloading. In other words, the generator set used in COP type cannot be loaded into PRP power. This type of working generator set is kept running for 365 days 24 hours (8760 hours), only maintenance operations are stopped.
